Cushing's Hides in Plain Sight - Until You Know What to Look For
Tools and knowledge to help families and vets spot the signs sooner - and see what's often missed.

Our Story & Mission
When Sara, my 14-year-old Labrador, was diagnosed with Cushing's disease in January 2025, I had never heard of it. The signs had been there for months-subtle, easy to overlook, dismissed as normal aging.
As I searched for information, I found fragmented resources: dense veterinary literature, conflicting forum advice, and no comprehensive guide bridging clinical knowledge with practical management. As Sara's condition progressed through complications including severe muscle wasting, neurological episodes, and acute liver failure from a gallbladder mucocele, I learned that finding the right answers-quickly-could mean the difference between life and death. Literally.
That experience made one thing clear: dogs are suffering because Cushing's and related endocrine conditions are sometimes recognized too late, and the information needed to manage them effectively is scattered and inaccessible.
Working with Dr. Vlad Rosianu, the veterinarian who diagnosed Sara, and Eduard Ciugulea, our technical lead, we built what we desperately needed: a comprehensive, evidence-based platform on Cushing's disease and related endocrine conditions-reviewed by veterinary professionals, accessible to everyone. Cushing's is such a complex condition that we're all constantly learning, and better information helps everyone make better decisions.
This platform exists to give every dog owner and veterinary team the information needed to recognize these diseases earlier, manage them more effectively, and make informed decisions when it matters most.
Why This Matters
Every dog is different. Some show hunger or thirst first, others shed differently, move less, or change in subtle ways that only their families notice. Families living with these dogs often spot subtle changes first, but translating those observations into clinically useful information can be challenging.
That's the gap we're filling.

About Us
Sara
Chief Inspiration Pawficcer
A 14-year-old Cushing's survivor. Beat acute liver failure from a gallbladder mucocele when the only treatments offered were risky surgery or euthanasia. Her case highlighted the fragmented knowledge gap that required a deep dive into primary literature to save her life. This entire project exists because she refused to lose.
Lavinia Isaila
Founder & Owner Advocate
Sara's human. Found and applied a medical protocol from primary literature that resolved acute liver failure caused by a gallbladder mucocele when vets offered only surgery or euthanasia. Created this platform so every owner has access to the same evidence-based options.
Dr. Vlad Rosianu
Veterinary Medical Guidance & Review
The veterinarian who diagnosed Sara and has treated hundreds of endocrine cases. Recognized that fragmented information and limited research make these conditions challenging for everyone. Provides clinical oversight and ensures all platform content is accurate, current, and clinically sound.
Eduard Ciugulea
Technical Lead / Backend & Systems Developer
Long-time friend of Sara and Lavinia. The developer who transforms research and clinical knowledge into practical tracking tools and clear systems that owners and veterinary professionals can use every day.
We built this platform because canine endocrine diseases are under-researched and under-diagnosed. The information here is evidence-based and veterinary-reviewed, built for one reason: to help more dogs, their families and the vets caring for them get the right diagnosis and treatment sooner.
Together, We Can Do Better
Whether you're a dog owner noticing subtle changes, a veterinarian seeking better tools for your clients, or someone already navigating this journey - you're in the right place.
Every dog deserves to be seen, heard, and understood. Every family deserves support. Every story matters.
